Eye halve a spelling checker
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marks four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.
Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore two long
And eye can put the error rite
Its rare lea ever wrong.
Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no
Its letter perfect awl the weigh

The Virginia Kaplan Writing Award
Through the generosity of the late Virginia Kaplan, the Kaplan Writing Award is presented annually by the USCA Department of English to a USCA undergraduate who exhibits excellence in expository writing. Normally, the award is a significant monetary scholarship. The competition will be judged by a panel of professors. The Department reserves the right not to present the award if the judges do not recommend a winner.

The Phebe Davidson Prize in Creative Writing
The Phebe Davidson prize in Creative Writing was established in honor of distinguished South Carolina poet Phebe Davidson. This substantial cash award is offered annually by the USCA Department of English to a full-time, currently enrolled student at USCA whose work demonstrates superior achievement in creative writing. While the competition invites work in four genres (fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and drama), only one award will be presented in a given year. All entries will be blind-judged by a panel of three professors from the Department of English. The Department reserves the right not to present the award if the judges do not recommend a winner.

Submission Deadline: March 3, 2010

This shift, I think, changes the way one would teach research. Incorporating learning styles and processes into the teaching of research habits will significantly change the way the research process is taught. That is, we will no longer simply show students how to find information; rather, we will need to also show students how to engage with that information.

Submission forms are located around campus—on the Broken Ink table in the SAC, on the Broken Ink bulletin board in the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, in the Student Media Office in the SAC, etc.

The linguistic construction of pop culture is homologous with the discourse of pedagogical institutions. However, The epistemology of pop culture is strictly congruent with the invention of pedagogical institutions. Indeed, The reification of post-capitalist hegemony replays (in parodic form) the politics of the public sphere.
